Pelican Waters (Sunshine Coast).
EIANZ-SEQ are holding a one day
forum focusing on Erosion and Sediment Management in South East Queensland.
The forum has been brought to the SEQ Region by popular request and is based
on the three day Down to Earth conference held in Cairns, September 2005.
Forum Objectives:
Ϋ
To explore the
impacts that erosion and sediment have on the natural environment,
infrastructure and resources;
Ϋ
To highlight the
gap between current and best practice and explore impediments to achieving
best practice;
Ϋ
To understand the
current regulatory and policy environment and explore alternative
approaches;
Ϋ
To build
awareness and promote competency among construction, building and mining
sectors;
Ϋ
To identify
appropriate benchmarks for erosion and sediment control in Queensland and
explore the means to move towards those benchmarks.
