Expectation versus Reality
The Environmental Protection Act - is it Practical?

Date:               Thursday 1 December 2005

Venue:            Riverside Auditorium, Level 6, 123 Eagle Street, Brisbane.

A half day forum was held to discuss whether industry can be sustainable within the scope and intent of the Environmental Protection Act 1994Is the Act considered a workable document by industry or rather a restrictive barrier?  What are the positive aspects of the Act and do they encourage industries to be innovative?  What are the barriers and how can they be improved or removed?

Our focus areas for this event were:

      *      What does industry consider reasonable to achieve?

*      What are the current views of policy makers?

*      Do our current regulatory processes encourage innovative practices through licensing?
