Welcome to the home of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand, South East Queensland Division (EIANZ-SEQ).  The EIANZ is a representative professional organisation specifically formed to meet the needs of environmental practitioners and present a professional view on environmental issues in public forums.  Established in 1987, the EIANZ is genuinely multi-disciplinary in its focus and membership.

The EIANZ is a non-profit, non-political, independent professional association.

Our organisation serves the needs of practitioners as specialists and as contributors within the broadest sphere of environment. It also caters for the particular needs of individuals seeking to enter the environmental profession.

The EIANZ differs from other professional institutes and associations in that it relates to practitioners from every sector and training discipline, (scientists, planners, engineers, educators, architects, lawyers, landscape architects, foresters, and many others), with the range of disciplines being an essential factor in most spheres of endeavour relating to environmental practice.

EIANZ-SEQ have an active professional development program featuring a variety of Environmental Topics. These range from small information sessions to large full day forums.  Details of future and past events can be found by following the links.

Meeting the Challenges of the Future - A blue print for environmental practitioners

Climate change, water, sustainability and energy are the major challenges of the future. Finding lasting solutions will need an
even-handed consideration of the economy and society as well as the environment. Long gone are the days when solutions
were a simple matter of trading off the environment against development interests – we now know we need both to
prosper.

Developing and implementing solutions to these four priority issues represents an important test for society.
We must find answers; a failure to do so will compromise our prosperity and lifestyles.

Environmental practitioners have a new and important role in addressing these challenges.
